Best time to visit Israel
Israel is a country of extremes. Located on the Mediterranean Sea, it is regarded by Jews, Christians and Muslims as the biblical Holy Land. But Israel is so much more than that. With a coastline bordering the Mediterranean Sea, the Dead Sea, the Red Sea, and the Sea of Galilee, tourists can find everything from world-class scuba diving at golden beaches, green forests and nature, rugged desert and ancient ruins dating back centuries.
But when is the best time to visit this wondrous country? Well, with endless hot, dry summers and short winters with little rain, Israel is the perfect destination to visit all through the year. Israel provides the weather and terrain of your dreams and limitless opportunities for outdoor activities from January through December.

The 4 Seasons of Israel
If you’re looking for some winter sun, the months of December – February offer mild temperatures around the center of the country, while the temperatures in the Dead Sea, the lowest point of earth and Eilat, the southernmost city in the country can reach the mid 70’s. In the north of the country, the Golan Heights offer snowcapped peaks and a ski resort rivalling many in Europe. October, November and March through June are usually perfect spring months, with the occasional rainfall, when wildflowers can be found all over the country. This is the perfect time for hiking in Israel’s miles and miles of beautiful nature. High season for tourists is most definitely July and August when temperatures hit boiling point and the plethora of beaches dotted around the country, which offer something for every kind of sand lover, fill up. Or for a more relaxed bathing experience outdoor pools are always a welcome treat.
However, do remember that despite the laid-back dress code in most places in the country, you should always carry a scarf to cover up legs and shoulders in case you inadvertently find yourself at a sacred site.
